Soundbars are an easy and practical way to improve TV (and to a lesser extent) video projector sound. However, Razer has announced its latest soundbar in partnership with THX that’s optimized specifically for the PC gaming environment, the Leviathan V2.
Tip: Razer owns THX
What The Razer Leviathan V2 Offers
The Razer Leviathan V2 is a system that includes both a soundbar, subwoofer and an array of LED lights.
Soundbar Dimensions (W x H x D): 19.7 x 3.6 x 3.3-inches
Subwoofer Dimensions (W x H x D): 8.67 x 8.67 x 9.5-inches
Speaker Complement
- Two Full Range Drivers: 2.0 x 4.0-inches
- Two Tweeter Drivers: 0.75-inches
- Two Passive Radiators: 1.7 x 5.3-inches
- One Down-Firing Subwoofer: 5.5-inches
System Frequency Response: 45 Hz – 20 kHz
THX Spatial Audio: This feature provides PC users and desktop gamers an expansive and immersive sound stage. Using virtual 7.1 channel surround sound, the gamer or music listener experiences 360-degree sound with minimal colorization and distortion when sitting in the sweet spot in front of the soundbar.
The THX Spatial Audio feature works in conjunction with Windows 10 and Razer Synapse 3 software. This means that THX Spatial Audio is only accessible when the soundbar is connected to a PC. The software allows you to toggle between Two-Channel Stereo and THX Spatial Audio depending on source content.

Beamforming: The Leviathan V2 also incorporates 3D Audio Beamforming technology. For more details, read our companion article: Audioscenic’s AI Beamforming Does Immersive Sound without Headphones or Speaker Wires.
Sound Settings: Custom 10-band EQ. This enables the user to fine-tune the frequency profile of the sound to suit their hearing preference.
Razer Chroma RGB: This is an interesting feature that adds multicolored light patterns (via LED lights) to the gaming and audio experience that can be controlled via the Razer Mobile App. There are 16 lighting zones available.
Control
The Leviathan V2 can be controlled by the free Razer Mobile App (iOS/Android) or via the onboard control buttons for Source selection (between Bluetooth and USB), Bluetooth pairing, Power, and Volume.
Connections
- USB Audio Input to PC
- Wired Subwoofer Output
- Bluetooth 5.2 (60ms low latency)
Tip: The Leviathan V2 does not have HDMI, digital optical, or analog audio inputs. This means it can’t be connected to a TV for a traditional soundbar setup. However, the Bluetooth feature allows you to listen to audio from compatible smartphones, tablets, etc… There is no confirmation whether any TVs that may have Bluetooth output capability would be compatible with the V2.
Weight
Soundbar: 3.08 lbs
Subwoofer: 6.61 lbs
Strictly for Gamers and PC Users
The Razer Leviathan V2 is a very interesting soundbar. However, you can only take advantage of its capabilities when it’s connected to a Windows 10 PC via USB with compatible software installed.
If you are looking for a soundbar to improve the audio experience for TV watching, this is not the soundbar for you as it doesn’t have HDMI, digital optical, or analog audio connections. However, if you are a dedicated PC gamer, this may be just the ticket.
Availability and Pricing
The Razer Leviathan V2 is available now for $249 at Razer.com and Amazon.com.
