Marcel,

Congratulations on the purchase and I agree with you 100%. I was listening to my CD60 this morning to distract myself from the 8″ of rain that has fallen so far today in my town.

I may stay inside this weekend and listen some more.

I have bought a Marantz CD60 for my stereo set in my Spanish holiday home. The set contains some components from my old set at home: Bryston 8b ST amplifier, which is bi-amped connected (by kimber 4TC cables) with Kef Reference model 4 speakers. Pre amp is a Duson c100. The CD60 simply sounds amazing. It replaces a Marantz SA 8005 (which broke after only 4 years of intermittent use…) but the sound improvement is remarkable. My Kef’s, which are not easy to tame, never sounded so detailed, natural, and with a huge soundstage. Can recommend the player to everyone!

If I may paraphrase to fit the moment?

“I look forward to your next report with great patience”…

I trust all is well with you and yours, my friend.

Fred,

You read my mind. Two of my items in Part 2 coming this week.

It’s really hard to see in the dark.

I love how it sounds, but I have two nits to pick: Why aren’t the (tiny) buttons backlit?, and the way they’re organized on the fascia. Both of which are irritating.
