CES 2023: Hisense ULED X Mini LED 110-inch TV

Hisense ULED X 4K TVs take Mini LED technology to the next level with two top-of-the-line models available in 85-inch and 110-inch screen sizes.

2023 Hisense ULED X 4K TV

We’re not sure how many people have the space in their living room or den for a 110-inch 4K TV, but Hisense has a very intriguing new ULED Mini LED option for 2023 that is creating quite a stir at CES 2023. The new top-of-the-line ULED X series TVs, which are both larger and more expensive than the flagship U8K series which is forthcoming this year, arrives in 85-inch and 110-inch screen sizes.

Hisense is also betting big on Mini LED TV technology. Nearly their entire 2023 line-up use Mini LEDs, except for their lowest priced models. Hisense’s ULED X TVs will push the limits of what’s possible in a 4K Mini LED TV.

Tip: ULED X may also be shortened to UX.

ULED X is the new generation of Hisense’s proprietary ULED technology. It represents the ultimate goal of LED picture quality technology, accumulated over ten years of research and development.

With the industry’s first-ever 16-bit light control algorithm – which provides even more precision and granularity for smoother dimming and color effects – ULED X claims to achieve three times the environmental contrast of OLED TV, and two times the dynamic range of OLED TV – all while also reaching the brightness of Quantum LED.

These capabilities on the UX model reach a peak brightness of 2500 nits and a contrast ratio of 150,000:1, redefining industry standards for LED TVs by embodying both brightness and contrast.

The Hi-View Engine X chipset, independently developed by Hisense, is a key element in UX’s state-of-the art picture. With over 20,000 Mini LEDs and 5000+ dimming zones, having a chipset that can handle the processing power and deliver a great picture is important. With a new AI picture quality algorithm, Hi-View Engine X makes automatic adjustments to deliver the best picture quality in every frame.

ULED X claims to offer a 30% expanded viewing angle and includes an ultra low reflection panel so everyone in the room can enjoy peak picture quality no matter where they’re sitting. Additionally, technologies like Dolby Vision, Wi-Fi 6e, NEXTGEN TV, Freesync Premium Pro, and more ensure UX is future-proofed.

Audio was also thought through. For ULED X, Hisense developed a new 4.1.2 multi-channel audio system they’re calling CineStage X. It delivers 80 watts of power across 7 speakers and is Dolby Atmos spatial sound compatible.

Price & Availability

Hisense ULED X TVs are expected by late spring 2023. U.S. customers will only be able to buy the 85-inch model, but were told the 110-inch model will be sold internationally.

There’s no word on pricing. However, we’d expect the 110-inch model to be much more expensive than the 85-inch model. We wouldn’t be surprised if the 110-inch ULED X sold for over $20,000, because LG’s 97-inch OLED TV currently sells for $24,999.

Why isn’t the Hisense 110 in television being distributed in the United states? Maybe that Hisense feels it’s in direct competition with his Ultra short throw laser projectors.

      Robert,

That is very possible. Hisense is marketing its UST projectors very aggressively in this market.
