The RSL Speakers 10-inch Speedwoofer 10S is our benchmark for an affordable subwoofer priced below $450. Their first 12-inch subwoofer, the Speedwoofer 12S which retails for $799 is a very different beast for a number of reasons.
It’s bigger, a lot bigger!
Although the subwoofer driver is only two inches larger in diameter, the cabinet volume is 2.6 times larger, and the overall weight nearly doubles to a rather hefty 82 pounds.
Ealan Osborne reviews this behemoth and breaks down why it should be your next budget subwoofer purchase, even compared to the wildly popular SVS PB-1000 Pro.
RSL claims that the Speedwoofer 12S offers the performance of a 15-inch subwoofer, the accuracy of a 12-inch subwoofer, at the price of a 10-inch subwoofer.
We usually take such marketing claims with a huge grain of salt, but our testing confirms that the Speedwoofer 12S delivers on all three promises.
However, there are some reasons why you might want to consider the smaller RSL Speedwoofer 10S. For example, why buy just one sub, when you could get two for slightly more than the price of the 12S?
