With so many soundbars already in the market, one would think that the category was oversaturated, but that has not stopped manufacturers like TCL from investing rather heavily in technology to compete with Samsung, Sony, Bose, and Sonos.
In addition to its extensive TV line-up, TCL brought four new soundbars slated for release in 2024 to CES 2024.
Although detailed specifications and pricing were not revealed, the info provided so far revealed core features that will provide significant audio enhancement for TV viewing.
To get started, all 4 new models will incorporate Dolby Atmos for a wider, higher and more immersive soundstage. The 2024 soundbars will also incorporate new features and cosmetic designs.
Paralleling their TV model structure, TCL’s soundbar line-up are designated as S Class or Q Class.
TCL S Class Sound Bars
Just as with its TVs, the TCL S Class soundbars are designed as entry-level models, but that doesn’t mean they should be overlooked.
TCL S45H
The TCL S45H is a new entry-level 2.0 channel soundbar that also includes a Bass Reflex Port. This model is designed to provide upgraded TV sound for users who don’t want a separate subwoofer in the room. Despite being a modest soundbar, the S45H incorporates Dolby Atmos, DTS Virtual:X, Auto Room Calibration, and your TV as part of Center Channel Mode.
The S45H uses height virtualization to deliver an immersive Dolby Atmos listening experience instead of dedicated height channel speakers.
Auto Room Calibration optimizes the soundbar’s performance to deliver the best possible sound based on the room environment.
TCL S55H
The TCL S55H is a 2.1 channel Dolby Atmos Sound Bar. This model has all the key features of the S45H but adds an external wireless subwoofer instead of an internal bass reflex port to deliver strong low end performance.
TCL Q Class Sound Bars
Although the optimal home theater audio solution is diving into a separate home theater receiver/speaker setup, TCL’s Q Class Soundbars are designed to deliver a home theater audio experience that is designed to satisfy many consumers.
TCL Q75H
The TCL Q75H is a 5.1.2 Channel Dolby Atmos soundbar. This means that the soundbar incorporates left, center, and right channel speakers and a wireless subwoofer. The Q75H also has built-in tweeters, built-in up-firing Dolby Atmos Speakers and built-in Side Surround Speakers.
For added audio support, the Q75H includes Ray-Danz Acoustic Wave-Guide Reflectors to direct sound from angled speakers across the width of the room resulting in a more immersive immersive, ultra-wide soundstage.
TCL Q85H
The TCL Q85H is the flagship of this soundbar group. Featuring a 7.1.4 channel configuration, this system is designed to provide the best Dolby Atmos listening experience in this group.
The Q85H has everything the Q75H offers but adds dedicated rear wireless speakers that include horizontal and vertically firing drivers.
This means left, center, right, horizontal left/right surrounds, four height channels, and a subwoofer.
